Trout Lilies… Stevenson’s Creek and Beyond

Charles Allen Haynes

February 11, 2023

Last year we saw Trout Lilies, The Dimpled Trout Lily, at Stephenson‘s Creek near the Arabia Mountain/Davidson‘s tract. I thought I would get a jump on them this year but, although we had a really hard freeze a couple of weeks ago, the leaves are up and about 1-1.5 to 2 inches long. Jay went to Rottenwood Creek today as well and the plants he photographed are much farther along showing flower stems and buds. I‘ll include both sets.

Really not so many blooms yet but there were a few at Stephenson‘s Creek. And there are literally thousands to be blooming soon.
